About Us
How Our Family and Friends
Became Your Family and Friends.
We didn’t start off with a business plan, just a love of family and friends and a passion for the great outdoors. That passion grew, and for over 15 years we and our mules have been sharing it with people just like you.
It all started with Rick Green. A small town local who decided a team of mules and a wagon would make the fishing trips he and his friends took into the Cranberry backcountry a little more comfortable and a lot more entertaining. Once the mules taught Rick what it took to be a real mule skinner, things really started to roll. Rick soon became known as the “Mule Man of the Cranberry”, and it wasn’t long before people were asking if they could experience the Cranberry from the back of his wagon. A few good teamsters, a second team of mules and a lot of “word of mouth” later, Rick and his team are the only outfitters permitted by the US Forest Service to offer guided trips into the Cranberry Backcountry. For Rick, this started off being about family and friends, and 15 years hasn’t changed a thing. It doesn’t matter where you’re from…. Out here you’re part of the family.
The Mules and the Skinners
We know you’ve heard the saying “stubborn as a mule”. While every critter can get a stubborn streak now and then, mules are actually hard working, affectionate, personable and downright loveable. If you’ve never experienced a mule up close and personal, it’s time for you to meet our long eared partners we’ve come to trust and adore.
Jack and Clyde
These guys are our veterans. There’s nothing on this trail they haven’t seen, and no one they can’t impress. A perfect example of how opposites attract, Jack is a laid back, unflappable, easy going balance to Clyde’s all business, ready for action attitude.
Honey and Buck
We almost named this little but mighty team Piss and Vinegar because they don’t mess around; if you’ve got someplace to be, these guys are going to get you there. They may be our rookies, but these two already pull like seasoned pros. Honey is all heart and Buck with his steady pace makes for a fun breezy trip in and out of camp.
Rick Green (aka Mule Man)
Owner and founder of Cranberry Adventures, Rick has never met a stranger and is always there to help! Quick with a smile and a story (that may be embellished just a little), Rick is the heart and soul of Cranberry Adventures.
Felicia (aka the Good Help)
These days Rick is kickin’ back and enjoying trips a little more, thanks to the addition of his newest teamster, Felicia. (AKA – the Good Help). With more than her fair share of experience with four legged critters, and an ornery personality folks quickly come to love, Rick has come to realize he’s not the only mule skinner on this river people love to hang out with.
